Yahoo! implementing OpenID

Great news for the OpendID framework. Today Yahoo!, announced their support for OpenID. This is a very big step towards user authentication.

What’s OpenID?

For the non technical, OpenID is basically a decentralized user authentication system that allows you to share login credentials with multiple websites. If you would like to learn more head over to the OpenID website to learn more.

What’s next?

Hopefully the rumors are true and other big companies like Google or IBM will jump on the bandwagon. Soon all of us would be saying goodbye to the need of having different user names and passwords for the web sites we use. I already have my OpenID, what about you?.
