Today we all woke up to a big news!. Microsoft just announced the intentions to buy Yahoo! for 44.6 billion in cash and stock.

Now I’m concerned on how this will affect great developers working at Yahoo!. For starters Microsoft and Yahoo! have very different mindsets. For Microsoft is just an strategic move to compete with Google in the advertising business, but what about the people working at Yahoo!?, how will this affect them and how will this affect the way they work.

Yahoo! has been doing great things in creating and liberating great tools for the web community, they have stick to that hacker mindset always being open to new technologies in which Microsoft has not had any interest. Microsoft has always stick to their proprietary tools and technologies.
